Gone Haunting

I was really excited to learn yesterday that I won a Challenge over at Ildi Co's Creative Challenge Blog.
This meant I got to pick 3 digital images and Halloweenies Mummy was one of my choices.  It's just too darn cute and I couldn't wait to make a card with it.  I made this card for Ilda Co's Challenge #3 in which the challenge was to use stitching on your card.  This was definitely a first for me & I decided to handstitch on this card using Black DMC embroidery thread.  I coloured the image with my copics (W2, W4, W6, Y0000, Y15, Y17, YR16, YR18, R35 & R46) and then highlighted the mummy with my silver spica pen. I used Black Glitter Cardstock by Craft n Craftin and other scraps from my paper stash and used some Making Memories Halloween Brads (ones says BOO and the other says EEK) & pop up stickers as well.

I coloured the other 2 images I got from Ildi Co as well but didn't have much time to make a card.  I may not be posting for a while since I'm moving in less than a month and will be crazy busy packing.   I can't wait to get settled in my new place so I can get back to colouring & crafting :)

Little Girl w/ Dotted Present

I love Whipper Snapper stamps and this is one of my absolute favorites!  It's called "Little Girl with Dotted Present".  I don't own this stamp but my best friend Jen does so I'm lucky that I can stamp her whenever I need to.  I've had this one coloured for ages with my copics but didn't keep a list of colours so sorry.....

The background image was stamped by Kristina who sent it to me from a swap over at Splitcoaststampers.  I cut the scallop rectangle out using the Fa La La cartrige on my Slice machine and the celebrate ribbon tag is by Making Memories.  I sponged the background of the stamped image with Orchid Opulence ink by Stampin Up.  Since I own so many Whipper Snapper stamps I'm sure you will see alot more on my blog in the future :)

Ildi Co Challenge #2

I was really excited to try a new Challenge from the Ildi Co Challenge blog, Ildi Co Challenge #2.  The Challenge was to use:

•4 layers (can be cardstock or patterned paper)

•3 embellishments and
• use one or more PUMPKINS! The pumpkins can be one of your embellishments or they can be pumpkin patterned paper, just so long as I can find a pumpkin somewhere!

I'm super excited since I'll have the chance to possibly win 3 of their images which would be great since I don't own any YET!  For this challenge I used an image I received from Carla in a swap over on Splitcoaststampers.com by Magnolia, called Tilda with Spiderweb.  Details as follows:
  • Copics (E00, E02, E33, E35, E37, E55, R02, Y23, Y26, YR02, YR04, YR07, W2, W4 & W6)
  • spica glitter pen in Silver
  • Making Memories Brads & Pop Up "Lil Witch" Sentiment
  • Spider fabric ribbon from Cloud 9 Designs
  • Pumpkin was cut from paper I had on hand (only pumpkin item I own)
  • Cardstock was Bazzill & other pattern paper I had on hand (not sure of manufacturer)
I had a lot of fun colouring this image because while I was doing it my son wanted to colour too and we got to hang out and colour together.  I'll have to post some of the cards he's made in the future.  He loves to colour just like Mom :)

TGF - Miss Anya

Wow!  I'm on a roll......tonight while I was sitting in front of the TV I decided to see if I could make a card using images I had coloured in the past.  I chose to use an image from The Greeting Farm's Miss Anya collection.  I received this in an image swap over on Splitcoaststampers.com.  I coloured the image with my copics as always however I really need to start keeping track of the colours I've been using.  I know the Blues I used were B41 & B45 (two of my favorites) and her skin colour was E00 & E02 but not sure about the rest.  Other details are:

  • Paper - Bo Bunny Santorini Mediterrane & Bazill Cardstock
  • Misc ribbon
  • Gemstones
  • SU Border Punch
  • Spica Glitter Pen (red)
  • Versa Colour Sky Blue ink (for sponged background)
I had a lot of fun colouring this image and loved the way she turned out, especially the shading.  Hope you enjoy it too!

Butterfly Tilda - October Challenge

I love Magnolia Images (managed to collect quite a few) and I've been following a blog over at The Little Stampe Shoppe (great store in Canada for Magnolia images) for the past few months. I have been participating in the challenges which has been a lot of fun. The challenge this month was to create a pink card, the more pink the better in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month. I've had this image of Tilda as a Butterfly which I got in a swap over at Splitcoast for awhile now and I had coloured it weeks ago while I was vacationing at our families cabin on Lummi Island in Washington. This was the perfect time to use it! I coloured the image with copics, used Daisy Bucket Designs Paper, used my new Martha Stewart Lace Punch border and added a few gemstones and my masterpiece was complete....who knew it could be so easy!

On another note, when I started my blog yesterday I thought maybe I should wait until I have more time to manage it, create stuff to post to it and all that fun stuff. HOWEVER, I find that I'm looking forward to creating so that I have something to post so maybe this blog will be a huge motivator for me to get off my butt and start using some (OK....tons) of images I've been collecting from the swaps over at Splitcoast (which by the way are so much fun)! So hopefully this will continue to be the case and I'll have more cards to post this week!

My First Entry

I figured I would finally take the plunge and create a blog to showcase some of the cards I make when I get spare time. These days spare time is few and far between since I'm separating from my husband, selling our house and having to move. I'm hoping that this blog will motivate me to create more cards which in turn always reduces my stress level which I really need right now. I will post some new cards soon (I hope) but have posted one of my favorites using "Merry Christmas Tilda" from Magnolia. I made this a while ago for a Christmas Card Swap over a SplitCoaststampers.
