Paper Sundaes Challenge #62 - Photo Inspiration

Happy Sundae!!  I'd love to say I'm glad it's Sunday but this means the end of a hellish week for me.  I had it off work and have been quite busy so I can't say it's been the relaxing week I was hoping for.  I unfortunately have to go back to work tomorrow :(

The one good thing about today.....it's time for Paper Sundaes Challenge #61!  This week we have a photo inspiration challenge.  These challenges are always fun for me because I love to see how the photo inspires other people's creations.  For me this week I left everything to the last minute because I've been so busy that I basically picked the colours of the flowers as my inspiration for my card.  Here's the photo:
And here's my card:
I coloured this super cute Magnolia image (from the You're So Special Collection) called "Shy Rose Edwin" with copics and then cut out and sponged the edges with real red SU Ink.    I didn't use any design paper on my card, only Bazill Cardstock.  I added a few brads, heart buttons & some ribbon to complete.  I hope you join us this week!!  We have a fabulous sponsor "Michelle's Scrapbooking & More" this week and a wonderful prize to be won!  Check out the website as Michelle's carries many different items.  I was just over browsing and saw the new 2011 copic colour set and a bunch of new Magnolia images from the new Butterfly Dreams Collection!   Oh how I wish I had an endless supply of money to go shopping this very minute :)

Have a great week everyone!

Happy Easter!!

I know, I know.....I'm early and Easter is still a ways away yet!!  I just couldn't resist colouring up this super sweet image by The Stamping Boutique called Bunny Egg.
She was coloured with copics and then cut out using my oval nesties.  I also used the scallop ovals for the background.  The DP is from last year and is by WE R Memory Keepers and is called Hippity Hop.  The Happy Easter sentiment was also fussy cut out from the DP.   Other supplies used: Fiskars Border punch, lace & crocheted flowers by Recollections.  I just checked out The Stamping Boutique Store and they have this image on sale for $2.25 as well as the other boy bunny image here!  Make sure you get it while you can!

Critter Sketch Challenge #57 - Inspiration Challenge

It's time for another challenge over at The Critter Sketch Challenge Blog!  It's #57 to be exact and this week we are hoping you are inspired by this fabulous photo:

I know that I would love to be there right now!!  I was inspired by the blues and greens in this photo & used the Ladybug & Flower image by our fabulous monthly sponsor Softpencil Digital Stamps.  I just checked out their store & did you know they offer 5 stamps for $10?  Great Deal if you ask me!  Here's my card:
I coloured the image with copics & then added some glossy accents to the little ladybug to make her shine.  I used nesties and a fiskars border punch but kept the layout fairly simple.  The paper is really old I've had it for years.  I'm pretty sure it was from My Minds Eye Bohemia Line.

Hope to see you play along with our challenge this week.  It's always neat to see what inspiration others draw from the same photo when creating!  Have a great week everyone :)

Paper Sundaes Challenge #61 - Embossing!!

Happy Sundae!  It's Sunday which means it's time for another Paper Sundaes Challenge - #61 and we want to see embossing.  It can be any type of embossing, dry embossing, using embossing powder however you want to make it.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.  We are sponsored this week by our regular monthly sponsor Simon Says Stamp so you know there is a fabulous prize up for grabs.  Here's my card this week:
I used my Cuttlebug and used one of my folders "Polka Dots" to create the embossed background.  The DP I used is by Imaginisce called Enchanted - Princess Posies!  Perfect for this Tilda image my Magnolia called Will you by My Valentine Tilda from the You're So Special Collection.  I coloured Tilda with copic markers and used them to airbrush my flowers to match.  I added pink pearls to the centre to finish it off.    Be sure to check out Paper Sundaes & see the rest of the Sundae Girls creations.  They are FABULOUS as always!!

I sure hope this week is better than this past one, mine was absolutely horrible!!  I've got a week off next week (kind of) and hope to get in some crafting time.

Happy Mother's Day!

The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring this week's challenge over at Crafty Creations Challenges & to celebrate all Mom's out there and get those cards made early they are asking you to create a card for Mother's Day!  I used The Stamping Boutique image "Daisy's" which is another one of my fave TSB images as I just love when Tracey draws flowers!!  I used the sketch from the current challenge over at Fussy & Fancy Friday:
And here's my take on it:
I coloured the image with copics and my design paper was from Basic Grey's Origins line.  I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the yellow strip in the background and a fiskars border punch for the yellow scallop piece.  The Happy Mother's Day sentiment is a Making Memories rub-on.    I'm not usually a big fan of making Mother's Day cards since my mom passed away many years ago now and it is still a hard day for me.  I will pass this along to my sister to let her know what a great mom I think she is and to let her know that I know our Mom would be super proud of her and the way she takes care of her boys!

On another note in case you weren't aware:  The Stamping Boutique Blog is now hosting their own challenges every two weeks!  You can check it out on the challenge blog and play along for your chance to win some great TSB images!  I just checked out the store and there is more fabulous new images including one I can't wait to get my hands on just in time for Easter:  Cynthia's Fairy Basket!

Paper Sundaes Challenge #60 - Keep it Simple

Happy Sundae!  This week marks Paper Sundaes 60th Challenge & we are asking you to Keep it Simple!! We have another FABULOUS new sponsor this week:  MFT (My Favorite Things) and I was thrilled to us one of My Pure Innocence Stamps (4-Leaf Clover) that I got awhile ago from MFT and hadn't had a chance to ink up yet!   I have other Pure Innocence stamps from MFT I still need to ink up but will soon (shhhhh don't tell anyone because I'm sure you've never been in the same situation, right)?

This was an easy challenge for me since most of my cards are fairly simple.  I only used some design paper (sorry from scraps so I don't know the manufacturer), cardstock, a Fiskars border punch and a piece of ribbon!  The image was coloured with copic markers which are also carried by MFT!   I hope you will play along with us this week at Paper Sundaes for your chance to win a fabulous prize from MFT & REMEMBER:  Keep it Simple!!

Critter Sketch Challenge #55 - A Sketch

It's time for another Critter Sketch Challenge & we have another sketch for you!!!  I was thrilled to be able to use a sketch that I came up with for this week's challenge so I hope you like it:
Here's my take on it:
I was able to use up scraps for my card so unfortunately I don't know the paper manufacturer.  The image by Whipper Snapper called Conway Tweetie was coloured with copics & Spica glitter pens.  I added some pearls by Hero Arts and an embossed piece of cardstock to complete.  I hope you will play along with us this week, I'd love to see your take on my sketch & we have another wonderful sponsor this week:

On another note I have a question for you....What type of paper cutter do you use?  I have tried a few different ones and every one I use does not cut straight.  It is extremely frustrating so I would love to hear which brand/type you use.

Paper Sundaes Challenge #59 - Stripes!!

Happy Sundae!!!  It's Paper Sundae's 59th Challenge this week!!  I can't believe I've been around since the very beginning, it's been so much fun every week.  This week we are asking to see STRIPES!!  This can be your image, your embellishments, your paper....basically anything you like as long as we can see stripes.  We have a fabulous sponsor this week:

I was SUPER EXCITED to get to use one of Christy's images and I chose Poppy.  Here is my card:
As soon as I knew the challenge was stripes I knew exactly which striped paper I was going to use on my card. I love this line from Bo Bunny called Petal Pushers because of the fun, vibrant colours!  So my stripes would be my paper, Poppy's stockings & I guess the pink stripe in Poppy's hair.  The image was coloured with copics and cut out with nesties.  I added some sparkly sticker flourishes, rhinestones & the thinking of you sentiment which I believe is from the CC Designs Spring Kit from last year.  I so wish I was the type of girl who could pull off a long pink streak in my hair!!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Sundae Girls creations and play along with us over at Paper Sundaes!!  Can't wait to see what you come up with for our "STRIPES" challenge.  Have a great week everyone :)

I will be entering my card into the Tiddly Inks Challenge #40 Colour Me!

Holiday Greetings!!

The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring the current challenge over at ABC Christmas Challenge Blog.  This week the challenge begins with the letter "E" which stands for Embossing & Embellishments!  We would like to see your cards with 3 different embellishments & some kind of embossing.   For my card I used one of my favourite Stamping Boutique images "Snowman Sign".
I love that the sign is blank so that I can put whatever sentiment I like on it.  I chose to use a rub-on sentiment from Deja Views for this card.  I coloured the image with Prismacolour pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits.  I used chalk to shade the background and add some rosy cheeks.  Even the paper I used on this card was from my Deja Views paper pack.  My embossing was done with my snowflake embossing folder & cuttlebug & my 3 embellishments are my red square brads, ribbon & red rhinestones!

I hope you play along too!!  Don't forget that any card created with a The Stamping Boutique image can be entered into our monthly contest for your chance to win free digi images over the TSB Challenge Blog.
